Cookies Policy

1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They help the website remember your preferences and activity over a period of time, so you don't have to re-enter them whenever you come back or navigate between pages.
2. How We Classify Cookies
Every cookie and similar tracking technology on Hayrider falls into exactly one of three categories. Functional cookies always load. Analytics and Advertising cookies can be turned off — see "Managing Cookies" below for how.
Strictly necessary for the Platform to work — signing in, payments, maps, contract signing, and support chat. These always load and cannot be disabled.

Note: We do not currently use Meta Pixel or any other advertising/marketing tracker beyond Google AdSense, and Google AdSense itself is not currently active on the live site.
3. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies are placed by third-party services that we use to operate the Platform:
- Stripe: Our payment processor may set cookies for fraud prevention and payment processing
- Google: If you sign in with Google, or if Google AdSense is enabled, Google may set cookies related to authentication or ad delivery
- Mapbox: Our mapping provider may set cookies for location services and map rendering
- DocuSign: Our e-signature provider may set cookies during the contract signing process
- Tawk.to: Our live customer-support chat widget may set cookies to maintain your chat session
These third parties have their own cookie policies. We encourage you to review them:
- Stripe Cookies Policy
- Google Cookies Policy
- Mapbox Privacy Policy
- DocuSign Privacy Policy
- Tawk.to Privacy Policy
4. Cookie Duration
Cookies on our Platform fall into two categories based on how long they last:
- Session cookies: Deleted when you close your browser. Used for authentication and temporary session data.
- Persistent cookies: Remain on your device for a set period (or until you delete them). Used for remembering preferences and login sessions across visits. Our authentication tokens have configurable expiration periods.
5. Managing Cookies
You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View which cookies are stored and delete them individually or in bulk
- Block cookies from specific websites or all websites
- Set your browser to notify you when a cookie is being set
- Disable all cookies entirely
Important: Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in and using the Platform. If you disable these cookies, features like authentication, load posting, bidding, messaging, and payment processing will not work.
6. Local Storage & Session Storage
In addition to cookies, we use browser local storage and session storage for:
- Caching UI state (sidebar collapsed state, active navigation tab)
- Temporarily storing form data during multi-step processes (load posting, account setup)
- Storing authentication tokens (JWT access and refresh tokens)
These storage mechanisms are subject to the same controls as cookies and can be cleared through your browser settings.
7. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision.
